  • Q: How many members are in d●Luxe?
    • Answer: d●Luxe the Band is six pieces: two vocalists, bass, guitar, keys/sax & drums. d●Luxe Unplugged comes in a five-piece (no drums) or a six-piece (latin percussion) configuration. d●Lite the Combo is four pieces: two vocalists, guitar, and keyboards. We also provide piano only or piano and vocal configurations for cocktail hours and ceremonies, or guitar and vocals for ceremonies, as needed.
  • Q: What music styles do you play?
    • Answer: Both kinds: Country AND Western. No wait, that was the Blues Brothers! We play current pop, dance, and hip-hop, along with pop, dance, and rock hits from the 80's and 90's, as well as some Motown, R&B, and classic rock, plus some standards and novelty songs, including a few TV themes, plus a whole party full of kids' songs - shoot, we play everything!
  • Q: What events are you available for?
    • Answer: Clubs, restaurants, weddings, corporate events, private parties, fundraisers, comedy shows, and children's parties. But we don't do windows!
  • Q: How do you control the volume?
    • Answer: We play at a level that is required for the event. We have a "state of the art" sound system for superb sound with volume levels adjusted to YOUR preference. Over the years we have noticed that the proper volume is often a concern and we make that one of our priorities. Everyone has experienced a party that was unsuccessful because the band was "too loud". We moderate our balanced sound to meet your expectations. Because we control musical instrument volumes from a central mixing console, we can easily adjust volume up or back it down for all but the drums. We generally just smack the drummer in the head to get his attention (we do run the drums through the mixing console for larger rooms).
  • Q: What are the advantages of using a live band?
    • Answer: Live music creates energy and excitement, which simply cannot be captured by recorded music. Hey, there are some good, energetic DJs out there, but nothing compares to the energy produced by a live dance band. And no live dance band compares to d●Luxe. We will create a mood to get the crowd dancing without having to pull your guests out of their seats.
  • Q: It seems like some bands take a break every thirty minutes - how do you handle breaks?
    • Answer: Our normal schedule is to play one-hour to sixty-five minute sets with twenty minute breaks in between. You will get about three hours, fifteen minutes of live music in a four hour time slot, or four hours of live music in a five hour time slot. Of course, we will adjust our schedule to fit your event requirements. We will always play appropriate recorded music during our breaks. We also offer two packages to provide non-stop music: one where we rotate the breaks for each musician, and, the other where we provide a DJ to perform during each break.
  • Q: Will you learn a special request?
    • Answer: We may already know it. If not, we are happy to accommodate one or two (three for weddings) but if we are not able to track down a recording of the requested version you must provide us with a tape or CD no later than six weeks prior to the date of your event.
  • Q: How does the band dress for a wedding reception?
    • Answer: The gentlemen in the band wear tuxedos and our female vocalists wear formal evening attire. We have tried it the other way and it is very uncomfortable for everyone! Of course, we can be casual if that is what you prefer.
  • Q: Can you provide music during the ceremony and/or cocktail hour?
    • Answer: We can provide music for any aspect of your affair. We can provide a single piano player, piano or guitar and vocals, or our d●Luxe Unplugged acoustic ensemble. We can also provide Master of Ceremonies services to make sure that your party stays on schedule.
  • Q: Is it possible to view the band perform?
    • Answer: We insist. We play at a variety of clubs in the Delaware Valley on a regular basis. We may be able to make arrangements for you to see us at private events. Each facility has its own guidelines, however, so please call to make arrangements in advance.
  • Q: Where do you play/Where will you go?
    • Answer: Our normal roaming takes us anywhere from Philadelphia and Glassboro in the south to New Brunswick in the north; from Lansdale in the west to the Jersey Shore in the east. We will certainly travel outside of that range for the right people, the right club, the right vibe (and some cash!).
  • Q: How Much Do You Charge?
    • Answer: A fair day's wages, and less than you would expect such outstanding entertainment to command. As our grandmothers said, "Such a value!" Obviously, the type of venue and event, the total time including travel, the amount of performance time, and, of course, which d●Luxe unit you are hiring all have a bearing on our fee.
